There are several types of preschool experiences that may benefit your child. 

Jackson County‚Äôs free preschool opportunities, Head Start and the Great Start School Readiness Program, both use research based curriculum to prepare children both academically and socially for success in school.  Support is also provided for parents and caregivers as well as access to community programs and services that support family life and child development.  A more detailed description of both programs can be found in our Preschool Partnership Brochure.  See the list on the right hand side for a list of programs that offer free preschool for children who meet certain eligibility requirements.

  • Children in foster care
  • Homeless families
  • Children who might have special needs
  • Families who have a child who receives free or reduced lunch
Income eligibility is based on family size.
